Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Removals Notting Hill is committed to conducting its business with integrity, transparency, and respect for human rights. This Modern Slavery Statement outlines the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. It applies to all employees, contractors, agency workers, and suppliers engaged by Removals Notting Hill.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Removals Notting Hill has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place within our own business or our supply chains.
All managers are responsible for ensuring that this commitment is communicated clearly and consistently and that business decisions are taken in line with this policy. Any breach of this policy by an employee may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. For suppliers, any breach may lead to review or termination of the business relationship.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Removals Notting Hill provides domestic and commercial removals, storage, and associated logistics services. Our operations rely on a range of suppliers, including vehicle providers, equipment suppliers, facilities and maintenance services, and labour agencies. We recognise that certain aspects of the transport and logistics sector can be vulnerable to labour exploitation and we therefore take particular care in our supplier selection and ongoing monitoring.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We expect all suppliers and business partners to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our onboarding process, suppliers are required to confirm that they comply with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws and that they have measures in place to prevent modern slavery within their own operations and supply chains.
Supplier contracts and purchase terms include provisions that require adherence to our ethical standards, including the prohibition of forced, bonded, or child labour, and the requirement to provide safe and fair working conditions. Where appropriate, we may request additional documentation or assurances from suppliers operating in higher-risk sectors or geographies.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
Removals Notting Hill conducts risk-based audits and assessments of selected suppliers to verify compliance with our modern slavery expectations. These audits may include reviewing relevant policies, speaking with management about recruitment and employment practices, and, where feasible, visiting premises to observe working conditions.
We reserve the right to carry out additional checks where concerns are raised or where suppliers operate in sectors or locations considered to present elevated risk. Where non-compliance is identified, we will work with the supplier to agree corrective actions within a defined timeframe. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to meet our standards, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Removals Notting Hill encourages all employees, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns or suspicions related to modern slavery or human trafficking at the earliest possible stage. Concerns can be raised with line managers or senior management, or through any established internal reporting channel that allows issues to be escalated without fear of detriment.
Reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled as sensitively and confidentially as possible. We will not tolerate victimisation of any person who raises a genuine concern about modern slavery, even if it later proves to be unfounded. Where appropriate, we will cooperate with law enforcement and other relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks within our organisation. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management, receive guidance on recognising signs of potential exploitation and on the correct procedures for reporting concerns.
We periodically review our training materials to ensure they reflect current legal requirements, sector guidance, and emerging risks, so that our employees are better equipped to identify and respond to issues.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Removals Notting Hill recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing obligation. We are committed to continuously improving our policies, procedures, and controls to reduce the risk of exploitation in our operations and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by senior management to assess its effectiveness and to identify areas for enhancement. The review will take into account any incidents reported, audit findings, changes in legislation, and evolving best practice. Updated versions of the statement will reflect any improvements made and reaffirm our commitment to preventing modern slavery in all its forms.
